We exist to create a community third-space where film fans can enjoy a diverse selection from every genre and era of cinema. We are here to preserve Joplin's connection to the world of cinematic expression and local art—a place where friends can gather in a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment.
We are not a restaurant, but we do have food to pair with your movie. We are not a beer garden, but we offer a selection of draft beers to enjoy in both our indoor and outdoor cinemas. We are not a fine dining establishment or cocktail bar, but we strive to provide well crafted concessions and specialty drinks to give every guest a great experience.
We are on Langston Hughes Broadway & Historic Route 66 in Joplin, MO. Our little parcel of land is in the older Joplin City section—one of the oldest buildings in the city. This location originally opened in August 1920 and has housed a cinema more than once. Much of East Town is considered historical property, and the City is working toward having it classified as a Historic Neighborhood.
Not everything we screen is for everyone. But we offer a variety of films from every genre to ensure there’s something for every type of cinephile.
Our microcinema is dedicated to bringing the magic of film to our community. We operate as a film club, giving members exclusive, unlimited access to classic and repertory films every day, all in an intimate setting. Meanwhile, we offer two screenings each day of new independent films, ensuring everyone can enjoy the latest in cinematic storytelling.
